NIJI, a musical visionary with a distinctive style, has captivated global stages alongside stars like Harry Styles, Charlie Puth, Stormzy, and Michelle Williams, and collaborated with artists such as Gregory Porter, Moses Boyd, and Alex Isley. This versatile pianist, born in East London as Niji Adeleye, blends his Nigerian roots with jazz, hip-hop, gospel, and Afrobeat, crafting a vibrant sonic mosaic.
Discovered at age 14 in a community music school in Barking and Dagenham, he won the Rising Star Award in 2009, launching his career. With classical and jazz training, he became a key figure in both London and New York’s music scenes, serving as the resident organist at Madison Square Garden for the NY Knicks.
His debut album Better Days Ahead (2015) reached No. 3 on the iTunes Jazz Charts, followed by the acclaimed Late Nights, Early Mornings (2017), which led to a sold-out launch at Oslo, Hackney, and a tour culminating in a prestigious performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room.
Now, NIJI is gearing up for his biggest project yet. His latest single A13 Fuji offers a bold preview of what’s to come, reflecting his unique fusion of styles and showcasing the depth of his instrumental artistry.
