A fiery fusion of gypsy pop, funk, soul and R’n’B – that’s a brief but not entirely accurate description of Four Gypsy Soul’s music. It’s hard to describe their boundless energy and to pigeonhole their musical direction. Brothers Pavel and Denis Dird founded the band in 2012, following in the footsteps of their family tradition (their parents were members of Gulo Čar). Their music is like a journey into the heart of Roma culture, full of passion, temperament and infectious joie de vivre, a unique space where inspirations from the funk-crossover Gulo Čar of the central brother duo’s parents, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire or the work of chameleon Prince.
The exciting atmosphere of the concert of the now six-member Four Gypsy Soul, which will take place on 14 November on the home stage of the Groove Brno festival in the Metro Music Bar, will sweep you away with emotions and reliably make you want to dance. The musicians will also open a special funk jam session where, as usual at such musical gatherings, anything can happen. In any case, it will be an exciting and unforgettable evening, at the end of which the young Brno talents will meet their more experienced foreign colleagues on stage (but don’t tell anyone…).
