1. Introductory Provisions
1.1 These Visitor Rules are guidelines issued by BUJOART s.r.o., with registered office at Poštovská 450/6, Brno-střed, Company ID C82799, registered with the Regional Court in Brno (hereinafter referred to as the “operator” or “organiser”), establishing the fundamental binding rules for persons entering the premises of the Groove Brno festival and using the facilities located therein (hereinafter referred to as the “Visitor Rules”).
1.2 The purpose of these Visitor Rules is to ensure safety, fire protection, hygiene, health and property protection at the Groove Brno festival, as well as to provide optimal conditions for the execution of all events (hereinafter the “events”) that are part of the Groove Brno festival. Another goal is to ensure a pleasant social atmosphere on the festival grounds.
1.3 For the purposes of these Visitor Rules, the festival premises refer to the designated area of Kozí Horky at the Brno Reservoir.
1.4 The Groove Brno festival area is visibly demarcated, and entry is permitted only with a valid ticket or another form of identification designated by the operator. By presenting a purchased ticket upon entry or by entering the Groove Brno festival area in any other manner, each visitor expresses their agreement with the terms and conditions set forth in these Visitor Rules. From the moment of entry into the Groove Brno festival area, these Visitor Rules become binding for each visitor for the entire duration of their stay.
For the purposes of these Visitor Rules, a visitor is defined as any person entering the Groove Brno festival area, including media representatives, technical staff, and other personnel. The provisions of these Visitor Rules apply correspondingly to individuals entering the Groove Brno festival area based on a special or any other contractual relationship with the organiser or its contractual partners.
1.5 The provisions of these Visitor Rules also apply correspondingly to persons entering the Groove Brno festival premises based on a special contractual relationship with the operator and/or its contractual partners.
2. Groove Brno Festival Premises
2.1 Supervision over compliance with and respect for these Visitor Rules within the Groove Brno festival premises is conducted by properly identified staff of the operator and other persons duly authorised and marked by the operator, and to the extent of their legal authority, also by the Police of the Czech Republic and the Brno Municipal Police.
2.2 Persons who are under the influence of alcohol or other addictive and intoxicating substances, as well as those whose behavior endangers the safety and/or health of individuals and/or property within the Groove Brno festival premises, lose the right to remain in the area and may be denied entry or expelled from the festival grounds by the organiser’s staff, authorised persons, or security service. The same applies to persons who violate the rules set in these Visitor Rules and/or fail to follow instructions given by the organiser’s personnel and/or their authorised representatives.
2.3 The sale of tobacco and alcoholic products to persons under 18 years of age is prohibited in the Groove Brno festival premises.
2.4 Persons under 15 years of age may enter only when accompanied by an adult.
2.5 Swimming in the reservoir within the Groove Brno festival premises is time-limited to the public opening hours of the festival, but only until 8:30 p.m. Swimming is at one’s own risk.
3. Obligations of Visitors
3.1 Visitors are obliged to behave in a manner that does not endanger the safety and/or health of others and/or their property, including the facilities placed in the festival premises. They must also not restrict, endanger, or excessively disturb other visitors beyond what can reasonably be expected from the nature of the Groove Brno festival.
3.2 Visitors must follow the instructions and regulations of the organiser’s staff, authorised persons, security services, as well as the Police of the Czech Republic, Brno Municipal Police, Volunteer Fire Department of Královo Pole, and the Water Rescue Service of Brno-city.
3.3 Visitors must respect the rules derived from these Visitor Rules, generally binding legal regulations, as well as standards of decent behavior and good morals.
3.4 Visitors are prohibited from bringing the following items into the Mendel festival area:
a) Racist, offensive, vulgar, or otherwise immoral materials;
b) Weapons of any kind, or objects usable as cutting, stabbing, or striking weapons, or anything else that may threaten the safety, health, or life of others (e.g. scissors);
c) Sprays, corrosive, flammable (e.g. perfumes in containers over 200 ml), explosive, dyeing, or other health-threatening substances;
d) Bottles, containers, cans, or other items made of fragile, splintering, or exceptionally hard materials;
e) Fireworks, flares, smoke bombs, and other pyrotechnic items or launching devices;
f) Any alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages or own food and snacks;
g) Any addictive, intoxicating, or psychotropic substances;
h) Animals, except for assistance dogs for the physically disabled;
i) Materials promoting political parties or movements, or any politically-oriented materials;
j) Excessive baggage, luggage, bicycles;
k) Umbrellas;
l) Laser pointers;
m) Recording devices, film and video cameras, professional and semi-professional photo and DSLR cameras.
The operator or its authorised personnel, especially the head of security service or superior persons, have the right to decide on the dangerousness or inappropriateness of the items brought by the visitor. Inspections may occur at the entry or anytime after entry into the Groove Brno festival premises.
3.5 Visitors are required to allow inspections of brought items and luggage by the operator’s staff or authorised persons. Refusal of inspection may result in denied entry or removal from the premises.
3.6 Visitors agree to personal and luggage security checks for compliance with these Rules, conducted by staff, authorised persons, or the security service. Refusal may result in denied entry or expulsion.
3.7 It is further prohibited for visitors to:
a) Express, distribute, or publicly promote racist, offensive, vulgar, or immoral slogans or images, or incite others to such behavior;
b) Promote any political party, movement, product, or service
c) Climb or enter any structures or installations such as facades, fences, walls, barriers, lighting equipment, trees, poles, roofs, barriers, support structures, etc.;
d) Enter non-public areas marked as inaccessible;
e) Throw any objects into areas occupied by other visitors, especially sports fields, stages, and auditoriums;
f) Make any audio or visual recordings for commercial purposes, or take photos of performances with professional or semi-professional equipment without written consent of the operator;
g) Smoke outside designated smoking areas;
h) Bring beverages into the festival premises;
i) Light fires or use any kind of pyrotechnics;
j) Move or tamper with any facility or equipment on site;
k) Manipulate any water, electricity, or air systems;
l) Damage any devices, equipment, or greenery;
m) Write on, sticker, or paint any equipment, facilities, or paths;
n) Relieve oneself outside of toilets or otherwise soil the area;
o) Drive into the area without prior consent or instruction from the operator or authorised personnel;
p) Threaten or commit violence against individuals or groups, or incite such acts;
q) Sell any goods without permission;
r) Distribute or place any promotional or advertising materials without written permission;
s) Enter with dogs (except assistance dogs) or any other animals.
3.8 Visitors may not, without prior written consent from the operator and/or in violation of such consent, perform any business or similar activity in the Groove Brno festival area, nor may they distribute or sell any items, including newspapers, magazines, printed materials, promotional brochures, or store any items in the area.
3.9 Visitors participate in the festival solely at their own risk and are liable for any damage caused.
3.10 In matters of safety, visitors agree to:
a) Provide reasonable assistance in case of fire, natural disaster, or other emergency unless it poses serious risk to themselves or others, or unless important circumstances prevent them;
b) Dispose of cigarette ashes and butts only in designated bins and act safely when lighting cigarettes
c) Refrain from smoking in areas marked “No Smoking”;
d) Not damage safety signage;
e) Not damage or obstruct fire extinguishers;
f) Not damage or obstruct hydrant systems or other fire safety equipment;
g) Not damage or interfere with electrical equipment;
h) Not tamper with control elements of technical equipment (electric panels, main switches, water shutoffs, etc.);
i) Follow instructions from the organiser, fire patrol, security, or emergency services in case of fire alarm.
4. Liability for Damage
4.1 The organiser is not liable for property or health damage unless caused by a breach of legal regulations directly attributable to the organiser. Their liability is limited to the ticket price.
4.2 Elderly or disabled visitors must move carefully on smooth or uneven surfaces. The organiser is not liable for injuries caused by visitor negligence.
4.3 Visitors must hand over any found items to the operator or authorised personnel. Suspicious or dangerous items must be reported immediately. Visitors are responsible for harm caused by violations of these Rules or legal statutes.
4.4 The operator may request the surrender of any item that caused harm or injury to the operator or third parties.
4.5 Visitors must report any injuries or damage immediately to the operator or security.
4.6 In case of evacuation or emergency, visitors must follow the instructions of the operator, authorised persons, security, and emergency services.
5. Other Provisions
5.1 By entering the festival premises, visitors agree without further notice to the free use of their image or likeness as part of any visual recording, broadcast, or production of the event held at Groove Brno festival grounds for commercial or promotional purposes under Section 84 of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., Civil Code (hereinafter the “Civil Code”). This consent is granted indefinitely but may be revoked. If revoked without reasonable justification, the visitor may be liable for damages under Section 87(2) of the Civil Code.
5.2 Visitors acknowledge that sound and/or image recordings may be made on site for press, radio, television, or similar reporting purposes. Under Section 89 of the Civil Code, no consent is required if used reasonably and not contrary to visitors’ legitimate interests.
6. Final Provisions
6.1 All festival visitors are required to wear an identification wristband at all times during the festival. The wristband is provided upon entry to the festival. We kindly ask all visitors to keep their wristbands on for the entire duration of the event if they hold a two-day ticket (as the wristband grants access for both days). In case of total loss of the wristband, a fee of CZK 1,000 will be charged in accordance with the Visitor Rules. If the wristband is damaged but the valid ticket is presented, a replacement fee of CZK 50 will apply.
6.2 All participants are required to vacate the premises by July 13, 2025, at 1:30 a.m. Failure to do so will result in a late departure fee of CZK 500, payable in cash.
6.3 Rules may be supplemented by those specific to individual events, and such rules will be publicly displayed or made available by the organiser or security. Visitors must comply.
6.4 These Visitor Rules come into effect on July 1, 2025.
6.5 Rights and obligations not expressly covered herein are governed by applicable legal regulations, particularly Act No. 89/2012 Coll., Civil Code, as amended.
6.6 The organiser reserves the right to modify these Visitor Rules at any time.
